We All Gotta Face It...

I have learned, and I am sure you have too if you are in your teen years, that skin problems are very common. To keep your skin clear is usually not very hard, you just have to know what to use, and what type of skin you have. It can either be: dry, oily, combination, or normal. For instance, my skin is very sensitive and dries out very easily. When I first started getting little bumps I started off with this general cleanser and within a week of using it, my face looked like the Sahara Desert (fyi- if your experiencing this problem I suggest using Neutrogena oil free lotion.) And that was not good, because when you dry your face out your skin begins to produce even more oil, thus causing acne :/. So, I went a year without washing my face and then I started getting bumps again :/ So I decided it was time to start washing my face again... So I went to Wal-Mart to get some face wash and when I saw nothing, one of the Wal-Mart employees told me about the best face wash ever (not Proactive.) It was called Cetaphil. It is good for people who have sensitive skin. Although, I think Cetaphil has a face wash for regular skin. But, as I have recently learned, face wash is just the first part. The routine should be:

  • face wash (rinse with warm water; this opens up your pores) > acne spot treatment (not needed but highly recommend) > toner (this closes your pores so no bacteria or oil gets into your pores) > skin moisturizer (this keeps your face from drying out.)
  •           Also, it wouldn't kill you to get a deep cleansing clay masque to put on your face once every week (if you do this, you still need to use the spot treatment, toner, and moisturizer. (:
  •           Okay, this is going to seem very gross, but your going to be grateful to know this. Sooooo, let's say you have a pimple... and it is elevated... and maybe it is white (it doesn't have to be white for this to work) and it just won't go away no matter what you do. If you don't do this, it will take longer for it it for away. So if you want to get rid of it, get a washcloth and pour hot water on it, and leave it on the pimple for about a minute and put a tissue on both your index fingers and squeeze the pimple and you should see stuff oozing out of it (don't freak out, it is just oil that is trapped in your pores.) After you've squeezed enough (btw, don't do it to much or you will get bruises on your face) put the toner on and then put either the masque on or the spot treatment (this will dry out the pimple.)

I hope this doesn't seem to complicated because it is really not and you can get almost all the supplies at
Wal-Mart. But if it does seem complicated, let me break it down.
Daily routine:
face wash > spot treatment > toner > moisturizer.
+ once a week deep cleanser masque.
+ if pimple occurs put a hot washcloth and squeeze pimple with tissue, then apply toner and masque/spot treatment (gross, I know, but it really does work like magic!)
= clean, pretty, happy skin :)
THE END! (:
P.S. sorry I haven't made a post in a while... ):

On the Night You Were Born. . .

On the night you were born---- you were probably in a hospital. . . just kidding. . . I'm not writing a post about that. . . :)
Here's the real post:
Today I went to SAMS and I saw this bedtime story book entitled: On the Night You Were Born. I read and it was awesome. Basically it revolves around Psalm 139:14 ("I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.") It's a great book that truly makes you realize how special you are. One of the lines in the book goes a little something like this : "On the night you were born polar bears danced until dawn because the world has never seen anything like you or will ever again." Which is so true. Well. . . maybe not the polar bear part. . . but everything else is. Think about it. There has never been you and there will never another you. You are special. Everyone is. Everyone is different, and everyone has the power to make an either positive or negative influence in the world (or even just in your own community.) My favorite page in that book said:"If the moon stays up until morning one day, or a ladybug lands and decides to stay, or a little bird sits at your window awhile, it's because they're all hoping to see you smile. . ." :) So just remember: there has never been anyone like you, you are loved and will never been anyone like you again. That may sound cheesy but every word of it is true. :) Peaceee.

This is the cover of one of the most awesome bedtime story book ever! Just in case you want to buy it. :)

Rock it!

Hey y'all! Do you like how I made my blog all Christmas-y? I am so sorry I haven't posted anything since November 19. . . and that was just my amateur poem. :P I haven't really posted any fashion blogs lately, and that's what seems to be the main point of this blog. . . I have been posting posts on my friend's and mine's <<<sorry, my grammar isn't to hot. Anyway, that blog is: www.cookiemonsterhersheykisses.blogspot.com (I'm Hershey Kisses.)
     Yeah, so let's begin:
Have you ever had a phobia of wearing something? I have. Well, I believe you can rock any outfit with your level of confidence! Like last week, I wore dark purple cheetah pants, a ocean blue lacey shirt, and a black belt around my stomach (it's not as cray - cray as it may sound.) Anyway, I thought it might be too much, but I decided to go with it, kept my head up high- and guess what! The first thing I heard when I got to school was: "Victoria, I love your outfit! You always dress so cool! I could have never pulled it off" (yes she could've.) So do what I did, find your comfort zone, step out of it, and make the area you were afraid of your comfort zone. Keep your head held high and rock your outfit!

Sorry this is a relativity short blog post, but I am very serious when I say you can rock any outfit with confidence! (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me ~ Philippians 4:13) Byeee :)

Autumn

Autumn is my favorite time of year. I love it so much, that I wrote a poem about it. I don't know if it is okay or if it is sucky. . . so here it is! (please comment if you like or don't like it & if you don't like it please say why!) Thanks! :D

Autumn
Autumn is a season of sweaters, pumpkins, and candles
The sweaters to wear when there is a touch of chill in the air
The pumpkins to creatively garnish homes
The candles to watch
As the flames dance in any direction it chooses
As its shadow follows in its path
These are the entities of autumn
                        The best time of year
And the only reason to have such inviting items.

So. . . that's my poem! I hope you like it! <3

Sleeping Beauty ❤

You know how celebs have a hair and make- up session everyday- and they always look flawless and fabulous? Well ... this post is going to be on my favorite hair and make- up technique that should make you feel gorgeous ... because you are!

Make- up:
- This technique is called Natural Beauty. I hate it when girls wear to much make- up. It's like come on dude - we get it - you want attention. :P But this technique is one where you look like you just woke up looking like Sleeping Beauty.

 Things you will need:
  • a light skin colored eye-shadow (depending your skin color)
  • mascara (I recommend Maybelline gel mascara -- it's AWESOME! :])
  • eyeliner (brown for blue eyes I recommend - though black may work)
  • a light pink lip-gloss/balm
  • dark circle correcter (only if you have dark circles- but if you do and they're mild you probably won't need it)
  • any skin care that corrects any blemishes/redness (you may not need it- depending on how your skin looks)
Instructions:
- Take that eye-shadow and put 1-2 coats on.
- Then get the eyeliner and make it a little thick towards the end of your eye and very thin towards the beginning.
- Then get the mascara and make your eyelashes pretty:)
That's all for the eye make-up.
If you need to use skin care:
- Take the dark circle correcter and apply it under your eyes.
- Then get whatever skin care you have and correct any imperfections.
- Now, simply take the light pink lip-gloss/balm to top it all off.

That's all for the make- up. I have pictures below to show you how it turned out with me. Results may vary . . . haha:)

Hair:
For this look - I recommend keeping your hair down in one of 3 recommened choices:
            - Straight
            - Wavy
<           Soft, bouncy curls.
Things you may need:
  • A brush
  • A curling iron
  • A striating iron
  • Hair spray
For straight hair:
    - all you have to do is iron you hair (unless you already have naturally straight hair) . . . pretty simple, huh?
For wavy hair:
If you already have wavy hair then you don’t have to do anything . . . :)
If you have straight hair- either sleep with braids on – or curl your hair slightly and then brush the curls out.
                    -   If you have curly hair – get an iron and put it on a low temperature and iron it a little and you should get wavy hair.
For curly hair:
Once again, if you already have naturally curly hair . . . then just leave it alone :)
If you have straight hair, just curl it to soft bouncy curls.
<        If you have wavy hair, curl it to soft, bouncy curls.

Then, to maintain which ever style you chose you may want to use a little hair spray *tip – don’t use to much or your hair will look stiff. . . which would be bad . . . :(

That’s all for this Sleeping Beauty look :)

Scriptures of the day:
I don’t have any that relate to what I wrote about . . . but instead, I shall give you one you should always remember! :)
  •        “Nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ our Lord.” (Romans 8:39)

The End

Sorry my hair is a little messed up... I need to brush it... :P

Hi. :)

I love my doggie, Chance :)

This is an example of WAY TO MUCH MAKE-UP! :P
Fyi - I have no idea who she is... I simply found it on google images at:
http://www.lipstiq.com/2012/04/10/make-up-overload-big-no-no/
I don't want to use something and give credit for it.
It's illegal... :P

Dress up: Dress down.

Weird title . . . I know  . . . it will make sense in uno momento. OK- so this post is me giving tips to dressing an outfit up - or dressing it down- no matter what you end up wearing.
Dress up: So let's say you have jeans and a white t- shirt . . . kind of boring . . . well - it doesn't have to be! Simply pair the outfit with a scarf - it can be all designful < sorry if that isn't a word - or a solid colored scarf. Also: JEWELRY! Wear a couple bracelets and some fun earrings. Then for shoes, wear some cute boots, or some colored shoes (ex. red toms.) So that's basically how to dress up an outfit:]
Dress down: Ever think something is too dressy? Well - here are some tips on how to dress an outfit down. Let's say you have a very busy dress, or it just seems to . . . well . . . dressy- well to me the best way to dress an outfit down- pair the outfit with something like a cardigan or best of  all a jean jacket. Jean jackets are awesome - and are chic-y ways to dress down an outfit, but it still maintain it's unique look. For shoes, simply wear some black/white flats. I guess you could use colored flats... it kind of depends on the rest of the outfit. So - that's that:]
Also, it is hard to associate fashion with scripture - so this post will not have a "scriptures of the day" column. I sowwy. I hope you enjoy my posts. Tell your friends, family, mail  carrier, teacher, people at the bank, grocery store peoplezzz, and anyone else you come in contact with.
PEACE OUT! :P

Birfdays

Ah- what a day tis day has been. Today is November 3, 2012-- although as some of you football people may know it as: the day LSU plays Alabama. I honestly couldn't care less. I see today as the day I celebrate my nieces birthday. So come children (or adults) as I tell you a story.
        Once Upon a Time:
There was a little girl that goes by the name, Gracie. There was also another girl that happened to be Gracie's aunt that is often called Victoria. --- Okay I'm not liking telling this in fairy tale format, so I am going to write this in a less fairy tale way... (not that there's anything wrong with fairy tales :])
Yesterday was my nieces 7th birthday. :( You know how when you were little and maybe even now, your parents told you that you need to stop getting older--- so you can stay little and only have homework that you can do with crayons- but you did not understand why they wanted you to stay little- so you continued enjoying growing up? Well- you begin to understand when a little one whom you love dearly- begins to grow up. Gracie is one of the sweetest little girls you will ever meet, and I love her very much. It's kind of hard to believe she is 7. I know 7 doesn't sound like a big number... but the years add up. Although, it is still good to see her little girl spirit still very much alive in her. Do you ever wish you were still really little? Where it's fun to get into your mom's make-up and put a pound of make-up on- where you can eat with your hands- where fairies still exist- where everything you do is picture worthy. I do. Anyway, enough with all the mushy stuff.
Gracie is so excited because she can finally shop at Justice. So, I got her a little outfit from Justice. I also got her a cute, polka dot, soft, fleece blanket. Since Gracie is not really a super girly-girl, I got her a little shirt and some jeggings. It was so hard not buying her a cute little dress with little sparkly leggings. I got her an orange shirt with pink strips and sequences. Then I got her black jeggings with sequences towards the pockets. Then today I attended her roller skating birthday party. I didn't skate but I enjoyed watching my little one skate while beating my dad at air- hockey:)  I also got cake:)
Dont'cha love birthdays (specifically your birthdays?) There's that special feeling you get when you first wake up. That happiness you feel all throughout the day. Maybe we should try to live everyday like it is our birthday:)

Scriptures of the day:

  •  On you was I cast from my birth, and from my mother's womb you have been my God. (Psalm 22:10)
  • This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)
  • So if a person lives many years, let him rejoice in them all. (Ecclesiastes 11:8)
  •  For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. (Psalm 139:13)
  • Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many. (Proverbs 4:10)
  • For as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God. (1 Corinthians 11:12)
THE END
